You must all be familar with flash drives and hard disk drives. They all store data in much the same way. Now, comes MRAM , a type of memory storage that is based on quantum mechanical principles. We’ll not go deep into the theory and just see what this memory type can do.
- It is much faster to read than HDD or USB drives, CDs and DVDs.
- It consumes less power.
- It is capable to store data even when power goes off instantly. It offers much more data security than HDD.
A working prototype is made by HP. It is the fourth basic electrical circuit element-after resistor, capacitor, inductor and now memristor.
Computers will be more powerful now.
